Auto Accident REhab

Getting Immediate Help is Critical

If you’ve recently been in a car accident – even a minor one – it’s essential to get care that goes beyond quick, surface-level relief. At Functional Spine Chiropractic, Dr. Matias and Dr. Orta specialize in comprehensive auto injury rehabilitation that addresses the true source of your pain, helping you heal fully and preventing small issues from turning into long-term problems.

The force of a collision, no matter the speed, puts significant stress on your spine.

While some people feel discomfort immediately after impact, it’s common for symptoms to be delayed for days or even weeks.

You might walk away thinking you’re completely fine, but that doesn’t mean your spine hasn’t sustained a misalignment or hidden injury. Prompt evaluation and treatment can make all the difference in protecting your health for the long run.

Why You Must See A Chiropractor?

The forces involved in a car crash, even at low speeds, can cause sudden, intense stress to the spine and surrounding tissues… even if you don’t feel pain, chances are damage has been caused.

Whiplash is one of the most common outcomes, often affecting the neck, upper back, and shoulders. But spinal misalignments, disc injuries, muscle strain, and nerve irritation can happen anywhere along the spine. Left untreated or ignored, these issues can lead to chronic pain, poor posture, and restricted mobility that may worsen over time. Plus, given our nerves control every aspect of our body’s function, including organ function, some car accident victims may eventually experience seemingly unrelated health issues such as problems with digestion and acid reflux, respiratory issues, and even hypertension.

Chiropractic care offers a safe and effective path to recovery by correcting spinal misalignments caused by impact, reducing inflammation, and restoring joint and nerve function. At Functional Spine Chiropractic, auto injury rehab is more than a series of adjustments, it’s a full-body approach to healing that accounts for the physical, neurological, and structural stress placed on your system during an accident. Make sure never to ignore any injury, and seek help as quickly as possible.

I feel fine. Why see a chiropractor?

Many auto accident injuries like whiplash or soft tissue damage don’t cause immediate pain. It can take days or even weeks for symptoms to appear. Early chiropractic care can detect and treat hidden injuries before they worsen, preventing long-term issues.

What injuries can a chiropractor fix?

Chiropractors can address whiplash, neck and back pain, headaches, nerve compression, and joint stiffness. They can also improve mobility, address range of motion issues, promote healing, and help restore proper alignment disrupted by the impact, getting you back on the road quickly.

Is chiropractic safe after an accident?

Absolutely. Chiropractors use gentle, targeted techniques tailored to your injury and comfort level, and never put patients in an unsafe situation. The goal is to reduce inflammation, restore function, and help you heal without invasive procedures or dangerous medications.

Our Process

Every accident is different, and so is every body. That’s why Dr. Matias and Dr. Orta begin with a detailed consultation, digital x-rays, and postural analysis to understand how the impact affected your spine. This allows them to develop a custom treatment plan tailored to your exact injuries and symptoms. Once we know the extent of the damage and a pathway to correction, we will begin your course of treatment that may require a few to a few dozen treatments.

As part of your rehab program, Dr. Matias and Dr. Orta may incorporate spinal adjustments to ensure any misalignments are addressed, as well as spinal traction to support structural correction and decompress affected discs. They also guide patients through posture retraining and gentle rehabilitative exercises to stabilize the spine, prevent further injury, and support proper healing over time.

This corrective care model is especially beneficial after an accident, as it focuses not only on immediate relief, but also on restoring your body’s full function so you can return to your daily activities with confidence and comfort.

Auto accidents can happen at any time, and while some may not seem like a big deal, it is critical to get checked out by a corrective care chiropractor to ensure any spinal damage is addressed before it leads to more pain, or other complications down the road.
